3 girls for LOAD513
Well, my PTI stamps and dies finally arrived today, just in time for me to participate in the Blog Hop! I am showing a card I made with their Movers and Shakers: Zippers die and the Movers and Shakers stamp set, along with paper and ink in Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Smokey Shadow. These dies are so awesome! I am going to have so much playing with them and creating some wonderful cards to give and sell!
This shows a card I made featuring the requirements of two different challenges. The first is from the 5th Anniversary celebration for Papertrey, Ink. (Undoubtedly, one of my favorite companies for all things related to card-making. For their 4th day of countdown activities, they showed the Favorite color combinations of their design team. I picked Heather Nichol’s fave combo, featuring Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, Classic Kraft and Vintage Cream. Additionally, I was inspired by the January 31st Tuesday Trigger from Cath Evaldson’s blog, Moxie Fab World. I really liked the stripes of color in this photo, not to mention the thought of yummy chocolate. ( sorry, I tried several times to include the photo of the Trigger here, but something wasn’t working for me. Please, go to the link to see it.) So, I put these together to come up with a card.
The card features patterned paper from PTI’s Everyday Blessings pack, Vintage Cream and Aqua Mist cardstock, Mat Stack 1 die and Mat Stack 1 layerz die, Mat Stack 1 stamp set, Inside and Out: Thank you stamp set, Background Basics: Houndstooth stamp set, Script Sentiments stamp set and Hawaiian Shores Ink. Additionally, I used Tim Holtz’s Distress Ink in Antique Linen and kraft cardstock from an unknown source. Above you see the front of the card, and I am showing a detail of the front sentiment and the inside sentiment below. Hope you enjoy it.
Happy 2012! I know it’s been ages since I posted, but the holidays were busier than even I would have anticipated. Didn’t want to miss time with the kids, since I see them so rarely. And they just get smarter.
It’s interesting to see on FB posts how a LOT of people really wanted to be done with 2011. In a couple of cases, like where a friend’s mother died suddenly, I certainly understand, but other cases I couldn’t see it so clearly. But of course, there are plenty of less-favorable issues that most people don’t post to FB, so I wouldn’t be aware of why they didn’t like last year. Despite my two surgeries, I don’t have particularly negative feelings about the year, just am ready to make some changes in 2012 that will hopefully have a very beneficial effect on life. But this leads me to the card I made yesterday. A guy I used to work with got married this week in NOLA, (so , he had a really good 2011!) and I really wanted to use one of the new stamp sets I got in the mail on the 23rd to make a card for him and his bride. This is what I came up with:
I even added the little Mr and Mrs embellishment onto the envelope, in front of where I will address it.
All from Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise noted
Autumn Rose felt, Loopsy Daisy die, Filigree border die, Love and Marriage stamp set, K&Co white card, Stampendous Ultra Detail white embossing powder, Tsukineko VersaMark ink, Savvy Stamps background stamp, CTMH Grey wool ink, CTMh pink paper, unknown grey paper and pink jewel brad.
I was gone for the holiday weekend, finally got my cast off this evening (which means I can drive) and am hard at work getting my Christmas cards made. I will post a picture of them once they’ve been sent out, but not before then. I want to try to get a card posted for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge by mid-week, so you should see a new photo by Thursday.
I made a card for Thor, my sister’s husband who is due back from Iraq in the middle of December. So happy that he’ll back with the wife and 4 children who adore him, and so I’m sending a card for to be waiting for him when he returns. I didn’t show in the photos how the door opens and Ii wrote “So glad you’re back safe!”
